Online Driver’s Education Course

If you are under the age of 18 and need some flexibility in meeting the required 24 hours of classroom instruction, Capabilities is referring individuals to Costech Technologies. Costech provides an online, self-paced course that is a great option for those who may prefer this environment versus in-person classroom instruction.  Costech offers this course which can be completed from any internet connection, and Capabilities may also provide tutoring services if needed.

Please note that the required eight hours of on-the-road instruction is not included in the cost for the online course, but Capabilities does provide this service and can enroll an individual once they have completed the online portion and received their completion certificate from Costech.

Pre-Driver’s Education Training

This one-on-one training helps you study to get your Ohio driving permit.  Using the Digest of Motor Vehicle Laws, published by the driver’s education curriculum and customized for your learning style, this training reviews laws and street signs.

First Time Driver’s Safety Course

Capabilities instructors lead a one-day assessment and training course for a group of first time drivers over the age of 18. During this day, driving students will participate in an interactive class focusing on driver safety, driver responsibility, laws and signs. We will also complete the Ability to Obtain the Ohio Driving Permit and License Assessment. This course is not a requirement for obtaining your Ohio’s driver license. Capabilities can provide transportation for you to participate in the course.

Driving Assessment

During a driving assessment, our certified driving instructors meet with individuals who are interested in getting their license. If you have your permit, you will drive on the road so the instructor can test your driving and maneuverability skills. If you do not have your permit, you sit in the driver’s seat while we test your reactions and skills without driving on the road. This could also include testing to see if you could benefit from adaptations such as, but not limited to:

Left Foot Accelerators, Spinner Knobs, and Hand Controls for Braking/Acceleration

The result of this service is a detailed report outlining the approximate amount of instruction hours needed and areas of focus for driving instruction.

On-the-Road Driving Instruction

You will receive one-on-one behind the wheel driving instruction to obtain an Ohio driver license. Capabilities Driving Instructors are licensed through the State of Ohio to provide driving instruction.
