Teen Driver’s Education Classroom Schedules

2024 Teen Class Dates

New Drivers Under 18

Capabilities is a State of Ohio licensed driving school and this service fulfills the driver education class requirement for persons under the age of 18 to obtain a driver’s license. This class provides first-time teen drivers with the knowledge and skills they will need to safely operate a motor vehicle.

This course includes the required 24 hours of classroom instruction and eight hours of on the road driving and can be completed in the following ways:

  • Option #1: This option is available in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, and Shelby counties and includes 24 hours of live IN PERSON classroom instruction with a live instructor, and also includes the required in-person eight hours of behind-the-wheel instruction – the total cost is $450. The classroom is interactive and students must attend all 24 hours of the instruction. Students will also need to register for the in-person eight hours of behind-the-wheel instruction once they have registered for this option and have completed all 24 hours of the classroom instruction and have their learner’s permit. Classes are held at our office at 809 McKinley Rd, St. Marys, OH 45885.
  • Option #2: This option is available in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, and Shelby counties and includes 24 hours of self-paced ONLINE classroom instruction through our third-party partner Costech – click here to schedule and see the cost. This option is also available for individuals in Auglaize and Mercer counties who completed their classroom instruction through another driving school. The required eight hours of in-person behind-the-wheel instruction in Auglaize and Mercer counties can start after all 24 hours of the online class are completed and after they have obtained their learner’s permit. A 24-hour certificate of completion from the online course is required to schedule the behind-the-wheel instruction. The cost for the eight hours of in-person behind-the-wheel instruction is $450.
  • Option #3: This option is available for students not living in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, and Shelby Counties and includes 24 hours of self-paced ONLINE classroom instruction through our third-party partner Costech – click here to schedule and see the cost. In addition, the student must complete the required eight hours of in-person behind-the-wheel instruction through another driver’s education provider where they reside. A list of all the driving schools in Ohio can be found here. The student must contact an Ohio driving school and register for the behind-the-wheel separate from the ONLINE instruction.
