What does the Service Look Like?
When I first thought about looking for a job, I was worried I would lose my benefits. I spoke to a career consultant from Capabilities about my fears and he put my mind at ease. He explained a benefits analysis would show me in writing how earning money would affect me. The career consultant sent me some information to fill out about my monthly expenses. He also had me sign a release so he could gather information from Social Security and other assistance programs currently receiving. In just a short period of time, he met with me and my counselor to review what he had discovered. The information showed exactly how working 10, 20, or 40 hours a week at various wages would affect my benefits. I was excited to see I would be able to work and not worry about losing everything.
